Plain English, like everything else here. These terms govern this website and the Agent Match Concierge service.
What this service is — and is not
Agent Match Concierge ("AMC," "we") is a referral and advisory service offered by Jens Hansen, a California-licensed real estate agent (DRE #02274665) affiliated with Compass. We research, evaluate, and compare real estate agents against criteria drawn from your stated situation, and we present that comparison to you. We are an input to your decision — not a substitute for it.
You are never obligated to hire anyone
Participating in this process — the intake, the match, the Evaluation Report, any of it — creates no obligation to hire any agent we evaluate or present, or to transact at all. Declining every candidate is a legitimate outcome of the process, and it costs you nothing on the referral path.
Your independent judgment and due diligence
Our evaluations are based on information from public sources, the agents themselves, references, and the details you provide — compiled with care but not guaranteed to be complete, current, or error-free. You agree that you will exercise your own independent judgment and due diligence before hiring any real estate agent, including any candidate we present: interview them yourself, verify licensing and disciplinary history with the applicable state regulator (in California, the DRE's public license lookup), read every agreement before signing, and ask your own questions. Our process supplements your investigation; it does not replace it, and you retain — and agree to exercise — your own investigatory rights.
The decision, and the agreement, are yours
The decision to hire any real estate agent is solely yours. Any listing agreement, buyer representation agreement, or other contract you enter is between you and that agent and their brokerage. AMC is not a party to that agreement, does not supervise the agent's performance of it, and is not responsible for the agent's acts, omissions, advice, or the outcome of your transaction. Every agent we present is an independent licensee of their own brokerage — presenting a candidate is not an endorsement of everything they will do, and no agent is our employee, partner, or joint venturer.
No guarantee of outcomes
We do not guarantee — and nothing on this site should be read as promising — any particular sale price, purchase price, timeline, savings, or transaction result, or that any candidate will perform to any standard. Real estate outcomes depend on markets, properties, negotiations, and people we do not control. Statistics on this site describe markets in aggregate, not your result.
Limitation of liability and release
To the maximum extent permitted by law: AMC, Jens Hansen, and Compass are not liable for any damages arising from your engagement of, or transaction with, any real estate agent — including any candidate identified, evaluated, or presented through this service — and you release AMC, Jens Hansen, and Compass from any claim arising out of that agent's conduct or your transaction with them. Our total liability arising from the service itself is limited to the amount you actually paid us for it (on the no-cost referral path, that amount is zero). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here waives rights you may have under California consumer-protection law.
How we're paid
Disclosed on every relevant page and repeated here: on the referral path, if you hire a presented candidate and close, that agent's brokerage pays Compass a referral fee out of the agent's side of the commission — at a standard fixed in writing before candidates are chosen and identical for every candidate on your match. On the flat-fee Evaluation Report path, you pay us directly and we are paid the same regardless of whom you choose. Both structures are disclosed in writing before we start.
